Window Shopping On The Internet
By John Chipman | Published  11/16/2005 | Windows & Doors | Rating:
Window Shopping Compare Prices and Features Instantly Online

It used to be when someone mentioned windows we would think of the glass windows in our home, however, now our home page is on windows and they are online.

Times they are a changing and with this change come both good and bad alike. Finding the good is harder than it seems while the bad is everywhere. Our goal is to pick the good and leave the bad alone. It's all about the choices we make. The more data we have the better choices we make.

The window industry is a good example of this change.  The times require more of a pulling than a pushing style of promoting products. For years the industry has used old sales tactics from back in the 50s, which is very much a pushing style. You may or may not have seen them but let me refresh or enlighten you on these techniques. I was a national sales trainer for Sears Siding and Windows in 1988 and have owned our own siding and window company in Denver since 1990. So I am very familiar with these tactics.

For years window and siding companies have gotten "leads", although I prefer to call you potential customers, through door knocking and boiler room phone solicitations or pusher ship. These types of appointments are forced on potential customers and then the pushy salesman comes out with his bag of tricks, does his dog and pony show with heat lamps and various tools of the trade, all geared towards the sale. This is very uncomfortable and misleading for serious replacement window shoppers.

Rather than having several companies come into your home and each showing just one window, there is a new way. There is a company, which happens to be mine, that we like to think has the best way of window-shopping.

Imagine if you were able to compare different manufacturers features, warranties, prices, view window cutaway sections, and testing data whenever you wish and as often as you like. Imagine doing this without even one annoying phone call, not one salesperson coming to the home, can you see it Well, hundreds of folks just like you are seeing and doing this very thing today. They are doing it online, when they decide on their time frame from work and home. Online window-shopping has adapted to the 21st century. You won't need to sign up for any free leader products to view this window data, it's online 24 / 7 for anyone to use! Your contact information is not even required. You can do all this anonymously for free online.

This new approach to window-shopping is catching on not only because it's free and easy, but also it means better deals for the customer.  Internet ( pulling ) marketing is much less expensive than the newspaper or other means of finding potential customers. Internet data can usually be trusted more than an in home salesman running in and out with sales support material in hand. Why, because data online is for all to see over and over, whereas the salesman's props and tricks leave with him.

So without the pressure to make a decision we tend to make better ones. Internet shopping is impelling not propelling, pulling and not pushing, opening and not closing.

Internet shopping is the newest and most accurate way to purchase your new windows.  Take as much time as you like, Internet shopping will be here whenever you are ready. It's not going away, here for the new age thinkers of today.
